Exploring the fjord
Experience the Nakskov Fjord Nature Park from the seaside with the historic Post boat that has been sailing with mail, supplies and passengers to the islands in the fjord since 1937. For more than 80 years, the mail boat has served as the fjord's connection to Lolland.
From June 1st to August 31st, all weekdays and Saturdays are the popular postal tour. Departure from Nakskov Harbor at 9.00. The Post boat sails, weather permitting, along the old channel to Slotø, Vejlø, Enehøje, Langø and Albuen, returning along the same route. Provided it is agreed with the skipper, it is possible to arrange a short stay on Slotø or a little longer one on Enehøje while the Post boat continues to Albuen. There is usually a one hour stay at Albuen. The boat usually returns to Nakskov at ca. 13:30.
Along the route you can experience the many islands and a varied landscape with bays, coves and wooded peaks. The fjord is well sheltered for the west wind behind Enehøje and Albuen.
In the fjord you can always see many breeding or resting waterfowl. There is also a good chance to see the sea eagles, seals or guinea pigs.
In addition to the traditional post tour, the Post boat also sails the Post tour with Nature guide, “Lille Ø-tur”, “Ø-hopperen” and Sunset tours to Albuen and Enehøje.
